What's New in Version 11.7 of Acronis Backup Advanced for PC With version 11.7, the Acronis flagship backup product offers enhancements and addresses issues found in the previous releases. This release includes enhanced NFS NAS support, improved deduplication, Universal Restore technology & seamless cloud backup. The download version of Acronis Backup Advanced for PC is 11.7. Do the following to receive upgrade licenses:

1. Log in to your account.
2. Make sure all product serial numbers are registered under your account. If not, register them as described in this article.
3. In Products, locate your Acronis Backup product which you want to upgrade:

   If there is any issue with the Upgrade not working, please contact Acronis Customer Central with a reference to this article and your purchase confirmation (Invoice, License certificate).

5. A pop-up window will appear:
   • If you have a valid Acronis support program, you will see the Get free upgrade button. Press it and Upgrade Serial Numbers will get automatically registered under your account and will also be sent to your mailbox.
   • If you do not have a valid support program, you can always purchase Upgrade licenses in Acronis Online Store:

To download the installation file for Acronis Backup:

1. Log in to your account on the Acronis website.
   If you do not have an account and have not registered your copy of the product, you will need to create the account first - see Registration at Acronis Website.
2. Go to Products page. Find your Acronis Backup product in the list and click on Go to downloads:

4. Latest version is selected by default. Click Download:

1. Run the installation file and press Install Acronis Backup:
2. If you accept the License Agreement, check I accept the terms of this agreement box and click Next:
3. Having a full license of Acronis Backup (or a subscription for Acronis Backup to Cloud) select I purchased a license or a subscription:

   Otherwise start a free trial. We offer you 15 days of free evaluation. The product is fully functional (with these limitations: Acronis Universal Restore is not available, under bootable media only recovery is available, you cannot commit changes in Acronis Disk Director). After purchasing a full license you will not need to reinstall Acronis Backup, only license change will be required. All settings will be kept (this means no need to recreate backup plans or vaults).

4. Click on Add licenses:

   And insert the license (serial number of your Acronis Backup):

5. Select where to install Acronis Backup:
6. Specify credentials for the Acronis services. You can create a new account for Acronis services or use an existing account:

   Selecting an existing user make sure it has sufficient permissions. For more information see: . The necessary rights will be added automatically to a new user created in this step.

7. Select whether you would like to be a part of Acronis Customer Experience Program (ACEP) and click Next:
8. Review the installation summary and click Install to start the installation:

   Wait until the installation completes. Now you can use Acronis Backup.

Before installation, make sure that RPM Package Manager is installed on the machine. Linux distributions where RPM is already installed include Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. Before installing the product on a Linux distribution that does not use RPM, such as Ubuntu, you need to install RPM manually; for example, by running the following command:
sudo apt-get install rpm

The following Linux packages must also be installed in the system:
gcc
kernel
kernel-headers
kernel-devel
(!) The exact names of these packages may vary depending on your Linux distribution.

You need to have root privileges to install Acronis Backup.

1. Run the .i686 or the x86_64 installation file, e.g.:
   ./AcronisBackupL64_11.5_38573_en-US.x86-64
2. Welcome page is displayed. Click Next:
3. If you accept the license agreement, press Accept:
4. Type in the license key in the provided field. In the next step Acronis Universal is selected for installation. Acronis Universal Restore is included in the main license of Acronis Backup and will be installed automatically.
5. Select the components that you want to install. By default all components are selected:
6. Wait until the installation completes.

If the setup program cannot compile the necessary module for your Linux distribution, or if you have chosen to compile the module manually later, please refer to the file: /usr/lib/Acronis/BackupAndRecovery/HOWTO.INSTALL
